Animals in War Memorial
London, England

Looking through the portal at one of the pack mules.

The names of the designers and builders seen on the back side of the Animals in War Memorial.

Wreaths left in memory of some of the animals. Some of the wreaths are for animals that lost their lives from both of the great conflicts, to those unfortunate enough to have been involved in the wars in Asia at the moment. Regiments and Ships companies mascots, charity organizations, celebrities, and individuals have all left messages together with their wreaths on the steps of the memorial. The purple poppy has become the symbol in the U.K. for those animals who lost their lives alongside the men and women they served with.

A memorial to Ordinary Seacat Togo of HMS Irresistible who died on Mar. 18, 1915.

A horse and a dog on the other side of the portal leaving the horrors of war behind and head over the
rainbow bridge.
