Daily Event for December 4, 2009


December 4, 1899 at Fairfield Shipbuilding in Govan, Lady Alice Boyle christened the cruiser Cressy and sent her down the ways. HMS Cressy and two of her sisters, HMS Hogue and HMS Aboukir, were torpedoed and sunk in one action on Sept. 22, 1914 by SMS U-9.
