November 1944: USS West Virginia BB-48 in the floating drydock at Aessi Island, Espiritu Santo for
maintenance and repairs to her propellers after hitting bottom at Leyte Gulf.



January 7, 1945: USS West Virginia en route to the Lingayen Gulf to support the Invasion of Luzon, Philippines.



August 1945: USS West Virginia BB-48 at anchor off Japan after the end of the war. Mt. Fuji can be seen in the
background.



March 1, 1959: USS West Virginia BB-48 on her final voyage to the breakers yard.



The majority of the West Virginia now gone all that remains is the bottom of the hull.
