3. Sept. 22, 2014 My grandmothers brother Nathan Colton is in a photo in uniform wearing the HMS Implacable, I think he may have been a stoker during WWI, as this side of the family was never really mentioned. I am trying to discover as much as I can. Many thanks, Paul Purvis |
2. May 20, 2014 My father served as a stoker on this ship in WWI. He was 18 yrs old when he joined the ship in 1916 serving until the end of 1917 before transferring to another ship. I have found his records in the National Archives, but does anyone know if photographs are kept anywhere of crew members from this time. Many thanks, Glenn Fisher |
1. Apr. 24, 2013 I have been trying to find out some info on my great uncle's son, who served on the HMS Implacable (battleship) during WW1. I have done a lot of searching using the Internet, but generally have come very little - if you could find his Royal Navy Service No. it would be of help. His details are as follows: William Stanley Thomas born 1898/1899 Falmouth Cornwall England. His father's name was John Thomas (who served on the Nile Expedition) and his mother was Mary Emerline Thomas. Warm Regards, Laurie Dicker Brandy Hill, NSW Australia |
