December 4, 1945: A de Havilland DH-100 Vampire (LZ551) piloted by (Ty/Act.) Lt. Commander Eric M. Brown, M.B.E., D.S.C., R.N.V.R. landing on HMS Ocean. This was the first ever jet aircraft landing on an aircraft carrier.
