Few details are available about the loss of the SS Yalobusha on the Mississippi River near Donaldsonville,
Louisiana on Jan. 18, 1848, what we do know is this. She was built in Harmar, Ohio in 1844, was a sidewheeler
of 116 tons and was owned at the time by James Scott & Andrew J. Armstrong of Ouachita County, Arkansas.
We also know that thirty-five people were killed.
