Daily Event for October 25

Oct. 25, 1906 the four-masted bark Peter Iredale grounded on Clatsop Beach near the old Point Adams
lighthouse not far from Ft. Stevens, Oregon. The steel ship could not be refloated and was finally abandoned.
The insurance company sold the wreck for $500.00. On Nov. 13 another British ship, the Galena also grounded
near the same spot. The wreck of the Peter Iredale is still where she went ashore one hundred and one years
ago.
