On the third attempt the most famous ship in the US Navy was finally launched on Oct. 21, 1797 in Boston. The ship that is known as Old Ironsides refused to take to the water on two previous occasions, sticking fast to the ways. This beautiful ship is still a commissioned ship today and is used for training and reminding cadets of the ways their forefathers fought for our freedom and security. |
