Aug. 31, 1942 the Japanese destroyer Onami was launched at Fujunagata Zosensho, Osaka, Japan. The
ship had a life of less than a year from her commissioning in December. On Nov. 25, 1943 she was sunk at
the Battle of Cape St. George by U. S. destroyers, there were no survivors.
