Daily Event for October 20

On October 20, 1916 the Russian battleship Imperatritsa Mariya exploded and sank at Sevastopol. An accidental cordite explosion was most likely the cause but in the unstable Russian society of the time sabotage was not ruled out. The wreck was raised and later scrapped.
