Daily Event for November 21

November 21, 1916: The Britannic, sister to the Titanic struck a mine and sunk in the Aegean Sea. Britannic never saw service as a passenger liner but, was turned over to the Admiralty and converted into a hospital ship. Thirty people were killed, most by the Britannic's own propeller when the lifeboat they were in was drawn into the spinning propeller which had come out of the water.
