George Henry Robertson "Barney" Ross

George Ross of Highland Park, Illinois was the executive officer of the PT-166 when it was sunk by an American B-25 on July 20, 1943. He was not assigned to the PT-109 but, went on the last patrol after asking Kennedy if he could go along. He was assigned as the lookout for the newly added 37mm gun. After the war President Kennedy appointed him to the Presidential Commission on Juvenile Delinquency and Youth Crime.
