A SEAL's Endeavor
By Alex Lee

I think back to the start
Four of us silently waiting
Getting ready to depart

The quiet of the heli fills us with suspense
10 minutes, 6 minutes, 1 minute, go!
Now we must commence

Today, I find my team and I
In a desert hell
This arena we're in
Is now concealed by bullet shells

The sight of my friends' demise
Is getting hard for me to take
I have to do something now
I simply cannot wait

So I push on through
The foes' shower of lead
Still I continue my endeavor
Even though I know I'm dead

Push the buttons
To complete the final call
To get reinforcements
I'll try to save us all

Suddenly, a 7-6-2
Meets the center of my back
As I fall to the blistering sand
My entire world goes black

In an effort to keep them off
I rise defiantly once more
I may have lost this battle
But I know I'll win the war
