I am trying a case at the Montgomery County Pennsylvania Courthouse and remember this is the day my uncle, Harold G. Knight was killed when the England was hit by a kamikaze plane. I never knew him but could not help to think of him as I am waiting for a jury verdict in one of the courtrooms where he use to try cases. He was an assistant district attorney who signed up for the navy after Pearl Harbor. He was a Quaker and the son of the president judge so I am sure he could have avoided combat but he did not duck his duty. I am proud of him, and still think of him even though I never knew him. Without courageous men like him who were willing to leave their families and homes and go fight we might not be enjoying the freedoms we have today.
