HMHS Tjitjalengka, the ship Tom Parkin died in on Mar. 24, 1944.
(On the 11th March 1944 a Corsair aircraft crashed on landing on HMS Illustrious. Several flight deck crew were injured, the pilot and one man were killed. Two men, including Tom, died from their injuries. Tom Parkin, aged 31, was seriously hurt in the resulting fire and was transferred to H. M. Hospital Ship Tjitjalengka but died as a result of his injuries on the 24th March 1944. Tom was buried in the All Services Cemetery, Trincomalee, Sri Lanka.)
