Boy Telegraphist James Dennis McCormack, R.N.
(1899-1916)

I was recently looking up some of my family and discovered that my Great Uncle James Dennis McCormack was a Boy Telegraphist killed on HMS Queen Mary during the Battle of Jutland.  I had not realised which ship he was on, as my photo of him shows him wearing his HMS Vernon cap. James was known in the family as Dennis and was the brother of my grandmother. Her son, my father was named Dennis after him - Dennis Morris, and was also in the Royal Navy but during the Second World War.

Best wishes,
Denise Balmer
