Note the report at top left: "U.S. in Danger of Air Invasion If Britain's Fleet Is Destroyed, Stimson Warns House Group"
(Secretary of War Henry Stimson, tells Congress that if the British navy is lost or surrenders, the German air force will have a clear path to mounting an invasion of the United States. Due to the limitations of aircraft endurance, the Atlantic Ocean was a much more formidable obstacle than the Royal Navy to any invasion by air of the United States. This was just another absurd statement made by an American politician.)
