Note the report in column 3: "German Press Charges Webb Miller Slain"
(German propaganda attempting to start a rumor that the British Secret Service murdered Mr. Miller. It is unclear if this was one of Goebbels' Big Lies because the entries in his diary for May 1940 were never found.)

May 9, 1940: Front page of the Biddeford Daily Journal, Biddeford, Maine.
(Click on the image for a readable version.)

Note the report at bottom left: "Long Live Mr. Chamberlain Is Nazis' Official Reaction"
(This is rather a strange report, because it seems to indicate that the Germans preferred Neville Chamberlain as Prime Minister over Winston Churchill. The strange part is that that is exactly how the Germans felt. The Germans genuinely feared Churchill. Why they would telegraph this to the enemy is unclear to me. I am sure there was some kind of strategy behind it, but I was unable to locate anything written by the Propaganda Minister Josef Goebbels, as the entries in his diary for the month of May was never found.)
Also note the report at bottom right: "Officials Seek Motive In Strange Case Of Prof. Allyn"
