Note the report in column 5: "Nazis Bang The Drum About Scapa"
(A flight of German bombers attacked Scapa Flow on Mar. 16th. German propaganda claimed that HM battleships Hood, Renown and Repulse were damaged, even destroyed. In fact only the cruiser, HMS Norfolk, had received a direct hit, which killed 4 officers. HMS Iron Duke, a depot ship which was converted from a battleship, was slightly damaged by near misses. There was damage to shore installations, but it was not severe.)

I think this passage from the story is particularly relevant to today. "And so it went from bad to worse and the Athenian Democracy perished as practically every experiment in Democracy has come to a direful end - it exhausted its forces upon futile wranglings and bickerings between incompetent ward bosses and petty politicians and in the end it was destroyed by its own inner violence - and ceased to exist for lack of honest and capable leadership."
