March 22, 1921 The USS Colorado BB-45 was launched at New York Shipbuilding Corp. Colorado was at Puget Sound on Dec. 7, 1941 undergoing an overhaul and therefore was spared the fate of those at Pearl Harbor. She got underway in March 1942 and began her war time service. She was crashed by two Kamikaze aircraft at Leyte, but fought through the end of the war. She earned 7 battle stars for World War 2 and was scrapped in 1959.
